Services
My passion is to help clients listen to and reflect on symptoms, feelings, the body, and symbols to gain an understanding of underlying themes and patterns. After all, a meaningful life can only start from within.
I enjoy the creativity of integrating different approaches to develop an individualised, holistic treatment plan. I pursue evidence-based practice by considering each client’s unique background and personality, working with congruence and empathy, honouring the therapeutic relationship, and prioritising my own supervision and development.
Kia ora!
My name is Anja Botha and I am a Counselling Psychologist based in Tauranga, New Zealand. I have been working therapeutically for more than 20 years, first in South Africa and for the past six years
in New Zealand. I have worked in various settings, including public mental health, community-based clinics, and private practice.
I am passionate about working with reflective adults who are searching for their authentic path.
My interest in trauma and resilience led me to complete a PhD in 2014, followed by further work with adolescents and adults struggling with trauma, relationships, work and burnout.
Outside of work, I enjoy slow living, spending time outdoors, and a good coffee.

My Approach
My style in the therapy room is mindful, collaborative and warm, supporting clients to feel accepted and safe. I have a deep respect for the individual psyche and our capacity for growth in the midst of difficulty.
